• The JHS Overdrive Preamp replicates the unobtainable V1 of DOD's popular pedal.
• The Level control adjusts the circuit's output and allows you to decrease or increase the signal. The level control on this version has been modified from the original wiring of the #75 unit, resulting in a pedal with higher volume.
• The Gain control adjusts the amount of gain in the overdrive circuit. Increasing the "Gain" creates more clipping as it drives the op-amp and hard clipping into overdrive.
• A slider switch has been added to this production version, which was not present in the original DOD 250. While researching the #75 "Big Box" pedal, I obtained a second early big-box unit that utilized a different clipping arrangement. It is only fair to include this switch so that you can explore these two variations.
• This "Big Box V1" DOD 250 circuit has the familiar feel of a 250, but with a few changes: more overall gain/grit and distinct low/mids. It is a necessary addition for any DOD collector or those interested in the origins of this pedal.
